Curriculum Structure
The full-time MBA program at HKU is a one-year course offering three distinct tracks: London, New York, and Hong Kong/China. With a strong focus on the Asia-Pacific region and China, the program provides students with a competitive advantage, helping them build successful careers and become effective leaders, both regionally and globally.
The program structure includes 10 core courses and 6 elective courses, ensuring a comprehensive academic foundation while equipping students with diverse knowledge and skills. Additionally, the program incorporates a series of leadership development workshops, designed to enhance soft skills and provide practical learning experiences, preparing students to tackle challenges in their professional careers.

2. Elective Courses (6 courses)
MBA students are required to complete 6 elective courses, which can be selected from the list of MBA courses or from other master's programs within the faculty, such as Accounting, Finance, Marketing, and Global Management. Additionally, students can choose up to 2 electives from international partners, including London Business School, Columbia Business School, and Fudan University.
International Tracks
After 8 months of study in Hong Kong, students have the exciting opportunity to spend the next 4 months in one of three dynamic global cities: London, New York, or Hong Kong/Shanghai. Each track offers a unique chance to learn from leading business hubs, expand professional networks, and build a strong foundation for a successful global career.
1. The London track - London Business School
2. The New York track - Columbia Business School
Located in the global economic hub of New York, Columbia Business School – one of the prestigious Ivy League business schools – offers students the opportunity to connect with its extensive network of students, alumni, and renowned businesses. Upon completing the program, students will receive an official certificate and transcript from Columbia Business School.
3. The Hong Kong/China track - Fudan University
Students can choose to take China-focused electives at Fudan University in Shanghai for three months or complete the program in Hong Kong. The partnership with Fudan University provides opportunities to connect with its alumni network and participate in seminars, real-world projects, and workshops, offering students deeper insights into the Chinese business environment.
Admissions Requirements
To be eligible for the MBA program at HKU Business School, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor's Degree: A recognized undergraduate degree.
- Work Experience: A minimum of 2 years of full-time work experience after graduation (by August 2025).
- GMAT/GRE Score: Valid GMAT/GRE results within the last 5 years, considering only the highest (and valid) score. HKU MBA GMAT code: FS2-WL-67, GRE code: 4136.
- TOEFL/IELTS Score: A minimum TOEFL score of 80 (internet-based) or IELTS score of 6.5 (academic module), with no individual band score below 5.5.
